Velocity Apartments Canopy
Rick Vermey and Daniel Giuffre have done it again! Creating an integrated public artwork for the canopy ceiling of the new, Velocity Apartments, in the revitalised Canning City Centre.
pureLED Flextube RGBW addressable LED, teamed with Pharos control, supplied and commissioned by our team. The Flextube is recessed into the ceiling of the canopy for a flush finish. This installation was a challenge but brilliantly executed by Pyramid Builders and Easy Choice Ceilings & Walls.
The artwork features 8 unique colour changing shows, cycling randomly every 20 minutes. Each colour palette and pattern of movement developed carefully, in conjunction with the artists. The system features an internal clock which automatically fades the animated shows to "Late Night Mode" at midnight; a static warm white to reduce intensity and colour match the adjacent lobby lighting.
