Light Application worked closely with Lorenna and fabricators Denmac, to design the sculpture with lighting in mind from the beginning. Considering lighting in the early stages of the project allowed us to create a unique animated glow emanating from frosted acrylic ‘ribs’ separating the sculpture’s segments. The effect is achieved using PureLED Flexi Addressable installed within each rib, and four colour PureLED SplitWash in-ground uplights work together with the glow of the ribs to wash the sculpture’s surface. Subtle flowing swells of colour spiral their way around the sculpture, drawing pedestrians through the portal and welcoming them to the space. The colour palette is carefully selected to compliment the sculpture’s day time appearance and intent.

I love working with Light Application, they know what they're doing at all layers of the design process, they believe in what I do, they contribute with great merit, with quality products, industry knowledge, intuitive mastery and they are just plain great people by my side when it’s time to shine.
