In the auditorium, colour changing LED’s were required, which had to have the ability to provide a rich 2700K warm white, to enhance the rich colour of the heritage timber ceiling and also to additionally update the Concert Hall to having programmable full colour house lighting. Light Application worked with ETC and the LED manufacturer, Griven, to design a bespoke luminaire especially for this project – the Griven Ruby MC R fixture with custom RGBY LED chips. Spacecannon Quadra 40L 2700K down lights were also used, to infill and provide higher house lighting levels when required.
The Concert Hall’s existing DMX control system in the auditorium needed to be able to control the new house lighting, plus allow for touring shows to be able to control these fixtures from their own console, offering vastly greater flexibility than the decades old original incandescent system. This was realised using a mixture of Pharos DMX controllers and Philips Dynalite ILCS leading edge/relay controllers and system integration devices.
Insight Electrical Technology were the electrical contractors who installed all of the LED luminaries as well as the lighting control system on this project, by working over the Christmas break and finishing on time with a very tight project timeline.
