"Aurora" Artwork at Subi Strand

Light Application were very proud to be chosen to design, supply and engineer the LED lighting system for the artwork ‘Aurora’ by West Australian artist Stuart Green, developing the programming with the artist to create a spectacular animated curtain of light, that flows through the tall narrow space of the pedestrian walk at the new Strand Apartments in Subiaco.

Featuring over 2250 individually controlled RGB LED nodes over the artwork length of 45metres, the suspended 12m long strings run in two parallel lines above the pedestrian mall, the drifting graduation of colours evoking the Aurora Borealis phenomena. The addressable nodes chosen for use were the pureLED Hipower Dots controlled by the matched pureLED PureDrive 8K.

Installation: Ronstan Tensile Architecture
