"Aqua Lux" Artwork at the DoubleTree Perth Waterfront

The Light Application team is excited to see Aqua Lux, created by Tom Mùller for Agency 296, finally come to life.

Aqua Lux was commissioned by SKS Builders for the new DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront in conjunction with DesignInc and fabricated by Artcom Fabrication. Lighting supply and control was handled by our team at Light Application.

The artwork softly illuminates the hotel soffit with a dynamic, kinetic lighting display, made up of 84 suspended, connected lightboxes, fitted with pureLED Flexi Addressable, wrapping the architecture in a continuous U-shape. Aqua Lux, meaning “light of the water”, is inspired by the movement of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River). Pharos Control handles the DMX sequencing, programmed by our Technician, and designed to emulate the subtle, fleeting movement and mood of this iconic body of water.
